Lonavala (Maharashtra) [India] August 18 (ANI): Indian Navy chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi visited the naval base INS Shivaji in Lonavala Maharashtra and inspected various training activities and facilities of the station.
According to the Indian Navy, during his visit on Friday, the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) appreciated the incorporation of the latest technology and methodologies in the training curriculum and infrastructure.
He further underscored the relevance of training to attain the primary mission of the Indian Navy - to safeguard the national maritime interests.
Earlier on August 7, Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi released a document titled "CNS Course to Steer-2024 (CTS-2024)", highlighting his vision of the Navy for a Vikshit Bharat.
According to an Indian Navy spokesperson, the document highlights the key waypoints of CNS's vision of a combat-ready, credible, cohesive and future-ready navy for a Vikshit Bharat.
Navy spokesperson further stated on X that CNS directed the naval community to proceed with dedication and resolve to fulfil the Indian Navy's mandate as India's prime manifestation of maritime power.
The CNS urged personnel in leadership positions to leverage CTS-2024 to manage change and keep the Navy on course to safeguard the nation's maritime interests.
Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi took charge of the Indian Navy as the 26th Chief of Naval Staff on April 30, succeeding Admiral R Hari Kumar.
Earlier on August 5, the Indian Navy's frontline frigate, INS Tabar during the return leg from St Petersburg, Russia conducted a Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) with the German Navy off Kiel Canal, the Ministry of Defence said in a press release.
INS Tabar had earlier visited Hamburg, Germany from July 17 - 20.
These engagements are aimed at strengthening the maritime relations between both nations.
"The conduct of MPX between Indian Navy and German Navy off Kiel Canal signifies Indian Navy's outreach and sustenance efforts also marking a significant milestone in the maritime cooperation between the two countries," the release stated. (ANI)
