New Delhi [India], May 24 (ANI): Iqbal Singh Bhatti, Indian-origin social worker in France, whose name had come up in the recommendation of NIA investigation made by the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi to the Home Ministry against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the case of allegations of allegedly taking political funding from 'Sikh for Justice' has clarified that his name is "incorrectly" mentioned in the complaint and "I have nothing to do with this matter."
Speaking to ANI, Bhatti said, "I have nothing to do with this matter. In 2014, I went on a fast in Delhi demanding Justice for anti-Sikh violence and Bhullar's release. After the same fast, CM Kejriwal had sent me a letter and given assurance regarding my demands. I have been living in France for 32 years and am involved in social service work."
On Friday, Iqbal Singh Bhatti had come to meet the Lieutenant Governor regarding this matter, but the meeting could not take place.
He stated that Delhi's chief minister Arvind Kejriwal in a letter written to him informed that the government was sympathetic to the issues raised by him and would take necessary steps to ensure full justice.
Recently, Delhi LG VK Saxena's office has recommended an NIA probe against chief minister and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal citing complaints of him allegedly accepting funding from the banned terrorist organisation 'Sikhs for Justice'.
It is mentioned in the recommendation made by LG that in 2014, CM Kejriwal had written a letter to Iqbal Singh Bhatti supporting his demand for Bhullar's release. (ANI)
