"My family is under threat, I urge Amit Shah to take action": Unnao rape victim

The survivor of the Unnao case has submitted an application to the CBI, highlighting that her private posts are being circulated on Facebook and Instagram to expose her identity and intimidate her. "The supporters of the convict are intentionally scraping my images to reveal who I am; this isn't just harassment, it is a deliberate attempt to put a target on my back and endanger my children," the victim said.

New Delhi [India], January 5 (ANI): The survivor of the Unnao case has submitted an application to the CBI on Monday, highlighting that her private posts are being circulated on Facebook and Instagram to expose her identity and intimidate her.
"I met the Director and IG. They received it (the application) and said that they will take cognisance of it...If videos of girls like me are being posted on social media, the intent behind that is to trouble them...My case is sub-judice before the Supreme Court. I trust the Court that justice will be done, but the supporters of Kuldeep Sengar are pulling up my photos from Instagram and uploading them on their social media accounts so that my identity can be revealed and I can be harmed," victim told ANI.
"I have a lifelong threat now, my children can be harmed; my family is under threat...With folded hands, I urge the Home Minister and CM to take action...I have been assured appropriate action by the CBI," she added.
Meanwhile, the mother of the survivor expressed gratitude earlier to the Supreme Court for suspending the life sentence of expelled Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kuldeep Singh Sengar in the 2017 Unnao rape case of a minor girl.
Expressing her happiness over the Supreme Court's decision, the mother demanded justice for her daughter. She appealed for the death sentence of the expelled BJP leader Kuldeep Singh Sengar in the 2017 case.
The Supreme Court of India on December 29 stayed the Delhi High Court's order suspending the life sentence of Kuldeep Singh Sengar, the accused in the Unnao rape case. The decision triggered varied reactions.
The Supreme Court's three-judge vacation bench, led by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and comprising Justices J.K. Maheshwari and A.G. Masih, was hearing the CBI's plea challenging the Delhi High Court's December 23 order, which had suspended Sengar's life sentence pending appeal and granted him bail.
Sengar, a former Uttar Pradesh MLA, was convicted in December 2019 in the Unnao rape case and sentenced to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 25 lakh. (ANI)
