Muzaffarpur shelter home rape case: Medical reports suggest 34 girls were raped

Muzaffarpur (Bihar) [India], July 28 (ANI): 34 of 40 girls rescued from a state-funded shelter home in Muzaffarpur, were raped or molested claimed police.

Muzaffarpur (Bihar) [India], July 28 (ANI): 34 of 40 girls rescued from a state-funded shelter home in Muzaffarpur, were raped or molested claimed police.
Inspector General (IG) Tirhut zone, Sunil Kumar on Saturday told ANI, "Earlier medical reports indicated that 29 out of 42 girls encountered sexual contact. The fresh reports suggest that a total of 34 girls were raped or molested."
Gory details emerged from a state-funded shelter home in Muzaffarpur on July 23 where more than 40 minor girls were allegedly sexually assaulted over a period of time.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday directed the State officials to conduct a CBI inquiry into the alleged rape of minor girls.
Eleven employees of the shelter home have been arrested in this regard.
The issue of alleged sexual exploitation of more than 40 girls was uncovered more than a month ago by a Mumbai-based social science institute. (ANI)
