PDP leader Muzaffar Hussain Baig

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) / New Delhi [India], July 28 (ANI): People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader Muzaffar Hussain Baig on Saturday drew wrath from various political parties over his lynching remark.
Baig, while addressing a gathering in Srinagar today said the killings of Muslims in the name of cows and buffaloes should be stopped otherwise the outcome will not be good. There has already been a partition in 1947, he added.
Criticising PDP leader's "irresponsible" statement, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nalin Kohli said that creating a narrative on Hindu-Muslim bases is unacceptable.
"What kind of statement is this? It has to be rejected; first of all trying to create narrative on Hindu-Muslim bases is unacceptable. This is a very irresponsible statement given by a leader. In every incident of lynching, action needs to take place," Kohli told ANI.
"In 1947, during the partition which took place, the Muslims who wanted an Islamic country made Pakistan. But if he says that partition can happen again, then his words must be condemn," Kohli added.
Meanwhile, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) ideologue Rakesh Sinha hit out at Baig for giving religious angle to the lynching incidents and said, "When a terrorist is killed at the borders of Kashmir then we don't see his caste or sect but when a man is lynched in the country then we add religion to it...Why? These are the ones who can only criticise Prime Minister Narendra Modi and blame him on all wrong charges."
Reacting on Baig's remark, senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said that the PDP is complaining against the BJP as they are not alliance partner anymore.
"Since three and a half years, BJP and PDP have been destroying Kashmir in all aspect. From the very beginning, we had warned PDP not to join the BJPP but they wanted to enjoy the power and fame. Both equally took the benefits from the state and currently have left the city in shackles," Azad told ANI.
"Now that they have been separated from each other they are complaining about each other's mistakes and blunders," Azad added. (ANI)
