Mumbai's GSB Seva Mandal gets record insurance worth Rs 400.58 cr for Ganesh festival

Gaud Saraswat Brahmin (GSB) Seva Mandal at King's Circle, Mumbai, secured a record-breaking insurance of Rs 400.58 crore for its five-day Ganesh festival from Sept 7-11.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], August 27 (ANI): Gaud Saraswat Brahmin (GSB) Seva Mandal at King's Circle, Mumbai, secured a record-breaking insurance of Rs 400.58 crore for its five-day Ganesh festival from Sept 7-11.
The coverage includes personal accident cover, an all-risk policy for gold and silver ornaments, a fire and peril policy, and public liability.
In 2022 and 2023, the GSB Seva Mandal festivities were insured for Rs 316.40 crore and Rs 360.40 crore, respectively.

Taking about the insurance GSB, Seva Mandal, Chairman, Amit Dinesh Pai said, "Like every year, this time too we will be celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi. It will be five days' celebration...A total of Rs Rs 400.58 crores crore insurance has been done. Last year it was around Rs 300.60 crores...A private agency helps us with security and 875 people work in three shifts. CCTV, facial recognition cameras and metal detector gates will be used...100 plus CCTV cameras have been installed..."
Mentioning the environmental concerns taken care by the trust Dinesh Pai said that their focus is on lowering pollution and having an eco-friendly Ganpati.
"We are focusing on the environment and trying to curb pollution aiming to make net carbon emission zero. All of our waste is biodegradable, this year we will lower the use of flex banners and use LED hoardings," he added.
Ganesh Chaturthi celebrates the birth of Lord Ganesha. It is one of the most popular Hindu festivals which is celebrated for 10 days. People believed that during this time, Lord Ganesha arrived on Earth with mother and Goddess Parvati. (ANI)
