Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 26 (ANI): A Mumbai Court has rejected the plea of a 25-year-old actress seeking a DNA test of Bhojpuri film star and BJP candidate from Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur, Ravi Kishan, claiming that the latter was her father.
Earlier, the actress, Shinova Soni had filed an application in the Dindoshi Sessions Court in Mumbai seeking recognition of her rights as actor Ravi Kishan's daughter. She had requested permission to conduct a DNA test of the actor. The Court heard this matter and had reserved its decision.
However, during Thursday's court hearing, Ravi Kishan's lawyer refused to acknowledge Shinova as Ravi Kishan's daughter and instead discussed providing financial assistance to her mother, Arpana (Thakur) Soni.
Soni while addressing a press conference in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow on April 16, claimed that Ravi Kishan is Shinova's biological father. She had also alleged that the actor had denied her rights as his daughter.
Following this, a complaint was filed by Ravi Kishan's wife, and a case was registered against Soni and others.
The Bhojpuri film star Ravi Kishan, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Gorakhpur, has been once again nominated by his party from the same constituency.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Kishan emerged victorious against Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate Rambhual Nishad with a margin of 3,01,664 votes. (ANI)
