Mumbai: CM Shinde visits MNS Chief Raj Thackeray's residence on Ganesh Chaturthi 

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde offered prayers to the deity on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], September 20 (ANI): Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde paid a visit to Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray at his residence 'Shivatirth' on Ganesh Chaturthi.

Shinde then offered prayers to the deity on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

Members of Raj Thackeray's family including his wife Sharmila Raj Thackeray, and his son Amit Raj Thackeray were also present on the occasion.
Shinde said, "I extend greetings to all Ganesh devotees. I was in J&K yesterday, people were celebrating Ganeshotsav at Lal Chowk in Srinagar. I pray that the 'Vighnaharta' removes all obstacles before the people of Maharashtra."
CM Eknath Shinde also wished for the prosperity of the farmers and the citizens of the state. He hoped that the state would receive adequate rainfall.
Amidst the commencement of the ten-day-long festivities of Ganesh Chaturthi, devotees reverently transported idols of Lord Ganesha aboard a local train at Mumbai's Dadar railway station.
Visuals showed people chanting in the chorus 'Ganpati Bappa Morya'.
"My family has been celebrating this festival for 48 years. Here, at the Dadar Railway Station, they sell different kinds of idols of Lord Ganesha. That is why we come here to buy them. People from different areas come here and purchase the idols," said a local, Gaurav Chouhan while speaking to ANI.
Another local, Ganesh Patil, also expressed excitement for the 10-day-long festival. Speaking to ANI, he said, "I have been coming here at the Dadar Railway Station for 35 years. Today, I came here with my son to buy the idols of Lord Ganesha."
"We all are very excited and happy. We celebrate this festival with huge excitement," the devotee added.
Meanwhile, a huge gathering of devotees thronged Shri Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai to attend ‘Aarti’ at the two-centuries-old shrine dedicated to Lord Ganesha. (ANI)
