Police Commissioner Pravin Pawar confirmed that the city police successfully executed the operation, arresting seven individuals. The operation was carried out effectively, and the forces managed to arrest the accused who were trying to escape in a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), which was reportedly picked up from Nanded, said Pawar.
According to reports, the arrests were part of a coordinated effort led by the anti-gangster task force of Punjab Police, headed by Additional Director General Pramod Bhan, Commissioner Pawar, and central agencies. The arrested shooters have been identified as Ravinder Singh alias Ravi, Sukhchain Singh, Akshay Kumar alias Bachcha, Daler Singh, Gurpreet Singh, and Prince, all from Punjab. The driver of the vehicle has been identified as Gajendra Shriram from Nanded.
The arrests occurred near the Sawangi tunnel of the Samruddhi Super Expressway, which is within the city police limits. Punjab Police officials reported that the shooters were captured while exiting the tunnel.
