Our pleas fell on deaf ears, Mufti hits out at J-K Guv

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Nov 21 (ANI): Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Mehbooba Mufti attacked Governor Satyapal Malik for dissolving the assembly shortly after she wrote a letter to him staking claim to form the government in alliance with the National Conference (NC) and the Congress Party.
An agitated Mufti shared her ordeal trying to reach out to the Governor to form the government in the Valley with the virtue of being the largest party in the state with 29 seats in its kitty, along with the support of the NC and Congress. However, she said that she failed to get through the Governor via fax.
Unable to reach Malik, Mufti said she was compelled to share a copy of the letter on Twitter. Immediately after Mufti's Twitter outburst, the Governor faxed his decision to dissolve the Assembly, raising eyebrows.
Mufti tweeted, "In today's age of technology, it is very strange that the fax machine at HE Governor's residence didn't receive our fax but swiftly issued one regarding the assembly dissolution."
"Oddly enough our pleas fell on deaf ears. But who would have thought that the very idea of a grand coalition would give such jitters," read another tweet.
Meanwhile, People's Conference President Sajjad Lone has also staked claim to form the government. He also failed to reach the Governor via fax and shared a screenshot of the letter he sent to the Governor's personal assistant over WhatsApp.
Earlier today, the PDP, NC, and Congress confirmed their alliance in a bid to preserve the state's special status (Article 370).
Political drama began in the Valley after the BJP pulled out of its alliance with the PDP citing examples of growing acts of "terrorism, violence, and radicalisation" in the state over the past few years. (ANI)
