She wrote in the resignation letter, “The dignity of Tehsildar's post is being disrespected continuously for the past times by ignoring the seniority of the applicant. Sheopur (Madhya Pradesh) [India], August 5 (ANI): A woman tehsildar posted in Madhya Pradesh’s Sheopur district has resigned from her post citing "neglect" in the service.
The tehsildar, Amita Singh, on Friday wrote her resignation letter to the district collector and mentioned the reason for being continuously neglected by the senior officials.
She wrote in the resignation letter, “The dignity of Tehsildar's post is being disrespected continuously for the past times by ignoring the seniority of the applicant. Naib Tehsildars are continuously being given the charge of Tehsildar by senior officers. The position of the applicant is being ignored and insulted. I am filled with extreme mental agony of insult, humiliation and seeing my junior above me for the last three years.”
“With the arrival of the new collector, there was hope that justice would be done. But being confused by the words of the subordinate clerical staff, due to not getting justice even from the new collector, now I am feeling humiliated and uncomfortable in doing government service. Therefore, I am forced to voluntarily resign from government service. Please accept my resignation letter,” she further wrote.
Notably, on Friday, Sheopur Collector Sanjay Kumar issued orders to give new charges in the tehsils of the district and tehsildar Amita Singh was not mentioned in the order. Singh was being given the responsibility of other departments which were considered as sideline postings without giving tehsil. At present she was posted as Superintendent of Land Records.
Notably, Amita Singh had won Rs 50 lakh in the Kaun Banega Crorepati show in 2011 while holding the post of Tehsildar in Vijaypur Tehsil in the district.
When ANI contacted Amita, she confirmed that she wrote an application (resignation letter) to the collector and refused further comment on the matter.
Recently in June this year, Chhatarpur Deputy Collector Nisha Bangre had resigned from her post after she did not get permission to attend the inauguration of her newly constructed house.
Nisha Bangre, who was posted as Deputy Collector in Chhatarpur and Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Lavkush Nagar resigned from the post on June 22.
According to her resignation letter, a copy of which was with ANI, she wrote, “I am deeply hurt by the letter of the department for not allowing me to attend the inauguration program of my own house. My religious sentiments have also been hurt by not allowing me to have a darshan of a religious program in the said function. Therefore, I do not think it right to continue service in the post of Deputy Collector by compromising on my fundamental rights, religious beliefs and constitutional values. So, I resign from the post of Deputy Collector with immediate effect on June 22.” (ANI)
