Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], November 21 (ANI): Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday said that he is 'thankful' to the Congress for not forging an alliance with his party in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh.
Addressing the media, during the release of his party manifesto for Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls, Akhilesh said, "I am thankful to the Congress for not forming an alliance with the Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), now we can tell them their failures. It is because of their faulty policies that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is in power today."
The Samajwadi Party chief, however, asked the Congress party to form an alliance with SP, BSP and Gondwana Ganatantra Party to win more than 200 seats in Madhya Pradesh polls.
"We even today say that the elections are not over as yet. We are ready even today. They (Congress) should take Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and Gondwana Ganatantra Party with them and I can say that they will win more than 200 seats in Madhya Pradesh," he added.
Elaborating upon the manifesto that was released during the media briefing, the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister claimed that there has been no difference in his party's promises with regard to the work that they do on the ground.
"There is no difference between what we say and do. We have released our manifesto before the people of Madhya Pradesh. We firmly believe that till the time the poor, farmers and villages are not happy, there can be no development in the state. Till the time minorities do not get their rights, development is going to be incomplete," said Akhilesh.
The Samajwadi Party chief also attacked the BJP alleging that the maximum number of farmer suicides have occurred in their regime. "Wherever there is BJP in power, farmers are committing suicide. Around 40,000 farmers have killed themselves in these four plus years of their regime. They never fulfill the promises they make in their manifesto," he added.
The 230- Madhya Pradesh Assembly is slated to go on polls on November 28, while counting of votes will be held on December 11. (ANI)
