BJP MLAs on way to Gurugram hotel from Delhi Airport on Wednesday

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], Mar 11 (ANI): Amid the ongoing political crisis in Madhya Pradesh, both BJP and the Congress have decided to move their legislators outside of the state and lodge them in luxury hotels, apparently in a bid to keep their respective flocks intact.
While BJP hurried its MLAs to a luxury hotel in Gurugram in wee hours today, Congress will likely move its MLAs from Bhopal to Jaipur later in the day.
It is pertinent to mention that the BJP government led by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar is in power in Haryana while Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot led Congress government is ruling the roost in Rajasthan.
Meanwhile, Congress has sent two of its leaders-- Sajjan Singh Verma and Govind Singh--- to Bengaluru in order to pacify some of the rebel MLAs, who are staying in Bengaluru. Resignation of senior leader Jyotiraditya Scindia and 22 MLAs on Tuesday came as a jolt to the party, which is now making all-out efforts to save its government.
The developments come amid the political crisis that has engulfed the state after Jyotiraditya Scindia, a prominent face of the Congress, resigned from the party earlier on Tuesday.
Scindia's decision to leave Congress was followed by the resignation from 22 party MLAs loyal to him. The legislators who have resigned include six ministers.
Congress leaders said that the party MLAs will be leaving for Jaipur from Bhopal on Wednesday morning. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath, earlier today, put on a brave face and said that there is nothing to worry about and expressed confidence that the Congress still had the required numbers to prove its majority in the floor test in the state assembly.
Earlier, allegations were levelled against the BJP for reportedly holding hostages at least eight Congress MLAs from Madhya Pradesh against their will at a luxury hotel in Gurugram's Manesar and Bengaluru.
Several Congress leaders, including Digvijaya Singh, had accused the BJP of trying to poach its leaders. (ANI)
