MP: Police arrest all six accused involved in assault case of Army officer and his friend in Indore

Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG, Rural) Nimish Agarwal told ANI, "An incident occurred under Badgonda police station limits in Indore rural area in which there were six accused in it. Three accused who were hidden in the forest were arrested today. Now, a police remand will be sought and they will be questioned further."

Indore (Madhya Pradesh) [India], September 13 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Police arrested three more accused involved in the assault case on a young Army officer and his friend in Indore district on Friday, a police official said.
With this, all the six accused involved in the incident were arrested. Earlier on Wednesday, two accused were arrested while on Thursday one more accused was held. Three more arrested on Friday.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG, Rural) Nimish Agarwal told ANI, "An incident occurred under Badgonda police station limits in Indore rural area in which there were six accused. Three accused who were hidden in the forest were arrested today. Now, a police remand will be sought and they will be questioned further."
"A case was registered against the accused under various sections including ransom, robbery and gang rape. In the preliminary interrogation, the accused confessed the crime, and prima facie, two accused were involved in violating the victim. Further investigation into the matter is underway," he added.
DIG Agarwal further stated that the women's statements have not yet been recorded and it would be recorded when required.
Notably, a young Army officer of the Military Headquarters of Warfare (Mhow) Infantry School, along with his friend, was assaulted by 7-8 unknown assailants and one of their two women friends was allegedly sexually assaulted, states the FIR.
Earlier on Thursday, Indore Rural SP Hitika Vasal told ANI that the incident occurred at the Army firing range in Indore on Wednesday. SP Vasal also said that the complainant said that their female friend was taken to a corner and he heard her screams, which made them suspect that something untoward had happened to her.
"Police received information on Wednesday that four people visited an Army firing range late at night. An incident of two people being thrashed occurred there. The two others were told to bring Rs 10 lakhs. The complainant said that their female friend was taken to a corner and then he heard her screams. The complainant suspects that something untoward must have happened to her. A police team reached the spot immediately and upon spotting them, the accused escaped," she said. (ANI)
