Ashoknagar (Madhya Pradesh) [India], December 29 (ANI): An illegal hotel operating in Madhya Pradesh's Ashoknagar district was demolished on Monday in a joint drive carried out by the district administration and Nagar Palika, an official said.
The action was taken because the hotel was constructed without obtaining the required permission from the Nagar Palika and without complying with regulations. Additionally, outstanding dues from the Madhya Pradesh Electricity Board (MPEB) amounted to around Rs 5 lakh.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Shubhrata Tripathi said, "The hotel, identified as Azad Palace, is owned by Azad Khan, Shahid Khan and Rashid Khan. The hotel was being operated illegally here without taking required permissions under the Nagar Palika act. Additionally, the owners also did not seek permission for the execution of the basement. MPEB also informed that the owners had outstanding dues of electricity bill amounting to around Rs 5 lakh."
"The owners were sufficiently informed and also served three notices from the Nagar Palika in this regard and asked to vacate the place. Now, an action is being taken to remove the illegal encroachment from the site. They also had another farmhouse in Kolua, which was also built without permission, so we have taken action in that matter as well," Tripathi added.
Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav laid the foundation stone and inaugurated 12 development works and projects worth approximately Rs 129 crore in Ujjain district on Monday.
CM Yadav inaugurated three key youth-focused initiatives on the occasion. He launched Project Swadhyay (Coding for All), under which students will be introduced to coding and digital thinking from an early age.
The CM also launched the UtkarshUjjain.com portal, an integrated digital platform for learning, guidance, and career opportunities for youth.
Additionally, the Kaushal Setu industry-led skill development program was launched to bridge the gap between education and industry, equipping youth with skills aligned with real-world industry needs.
Addressing the programme held at Nanakheda Stadium in Ujjain, the Chief Minister said, "These initiatives will ensure that Ujjain's youth are not only limited to academic degrees but also are prepared to be job-ready, startup-ready and future-ready." (ANI)
