MP: Dindori police rescue 6 minor tribal girls forced into domestic work from New Delhi

The matter came to light when the family member of one of the minor girls lodged a missing complaint to the police. During investigation, police reached Delhi and they came to know about the other girls as well. Following which, the police brought back all the six girls and handed them over to their respective families.

Dindori (Madhya Pradesh) [India], September 30 (ANI): In a major success, Madhya Pradesh police of Dindori district rescued six tribal minor girls from national capital New Delhi who were forced into domestic work and were facing problems in returning to their home, a police officer said on Monday.
The matter came to light when the family member of one of the minor girls lodged a missing complaint with the police. During investigation, police reached Delhi and they came to know about the other girls as well. Following which, the police brought back all the six girls and handed them over to their respective families.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Jagannath Singh Markarm told ANI, "Family members of a girl lodged a missing complaint at Samnapur police station in the district. Acting on the complaint, the police registered a case under section 137 (2) (Punishment for kidnapping) of Bharatiya Nyay Sahita (BNS), 2023 against an unidentified person and constituted a team to investigate the matter."
During the probe, the police came to know that the minor girl's last location was in New Delhi. Thereafter, a joint team of Dindori police and an NGO Jan Sahas reached the national capital and saved the minor girl, he said.
"Meanwhile, we received information that there were other girls as well. After which, the team with help of cyber cell successfully rescued a total of six minor girls, one of them is a resident of Mandla district and the remaining are the resident of Dindori district. These girls were taken there for domestic work and were facing problems returning to their homes," the officer said.
All the girls have been successfully brought to the district and handed over to their respective families, he added. (ANI)
