MP CM Mohan Yadav inaugurates 'Vande Mataram 150th Commemoration' program in Bhopal

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], November 7 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Friday inaugurated the 'Vande Mataram 150th Commemoration' program at Shaurya Smarak in the state capital Bhopal, marking the 150th anniversary of the national song 'Vande Mataram'.
The programme also featured patriotic performances by the police band and CM Yadav released a booklet based on the history of 'Vande Mataram' here on the occasion. During this, the Chief Minister also administered oath to everyone to serve and respect the nation, adding that to maximise the indigenous products in daily life.
During the event, a live broadcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address from New Delhi was screened, followed by a collective rendition of the National Song 'Vande Mataram' by 150 artists. Additionally, an exhibition was also organised at the venue, showcasing pictures related to 'Vande Mataram' and the freedom movement.
"The 'Vande Mataram Commemoration' program is a unique example of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's patriotism and vision for preserving heritage. Today, I inaugurated a state-level 'Vande Mataram 150th Commemoration' program at Shaurya Smarak, Bhopal. I also participated virtually in the program organized in New Delhi on this occasion," CM Yadav stated in a post on X.
Emphasising the importance of Vande Mataram poem, the Chief Minister further adds in the post that it ignites the spirit of freedom and symbolizes devotion to the motherland. The 150 years of "Vande Mataram" inspire us to stay connected to our roots and remain constantly devoted to Mother India.
The Government of India has decided to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the national song with ceremonial programs across the country from November 7, 2025, to November 7, 2026.
Vande Mataram is a Sanskrit poem written by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay in 1876. It was later included in his novel Anandamath, published in 1882, and became a symbol of Indian nationalism during the country's struggle for independence.
The poem is a hymn to the motherland, personifying India as a goddess, and is often translated as "Hail to the Motherland". The song has been a source of inspiration for many Indians and is considered one of the most iconic expressions of patriotism in the country. (ANI)
