MP Budget 2024-25: Rs 1,081 cr proposed for culture dept, including provision for Ram Path Gaman, Krishna Pathey Yojana

State Finance Minister Devda said that the budget for the culture department for the current fiscal year was two and a half times more than that of the budget estimate of the last FY 2023-24.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], July 3 (ANI): Deputy Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and Finance Minister Jagdish Devda on Wednesday presented the state budget of Rs 3.65 lakh crore for the financial year 2024-25 in which Rs 1081 crore was proposed for the Culture Department which includes provision for Ram Path Gaman, Krishna Pathey Yojana.
State Finance Minister Devda said that the budget for the culture department for the current fiscal year was two and a half times more than that of the budget estimate of the last FY 2023-24.
Speaking in the state assembly, Devda said, "The state government is encouraging Various cultural groups of the state. These groups have increased the prestige of the state by exhibiting their excellent art at various places in the state and the country and also abroad. Our government is establishing Veer Bharat Trust, a museum of the brilliance of the timeless great heroes of India. Through the establishment of Veer Bharat Museum, Madhya Pradesh has taken a step forward in the historic task of preserving the contribution of the protectors of Indian civilization. This will be the first museum of its kind in the country and the world."
Lord Ram travelled through various places in the state during his exile. It is the resolution of the state government that various places in the areas of Ram Path Gaman within the boundaries of the state will be identified and developed. Similarly, CM Mohan Yadav has announced Shri Krishna Patheya Yojana through which, it is proposed to re-explore the Shri Krishna Path in the state and to preserve and promote the literature, culture and traditions of the related areas, he added.
"Our government is determined to preserve the ancient temples established at various places in the state. Under the Chief Minister Tirtha Darshan Yojana, 7,80,765 senior citizens were provided free travel to various religious places by rail or aircraft. A budget provision of Rs 50 crore is proposed for this scheme for FY 2024-25," the minister said.
After the budget presented in the state assembly, CM Yadav addressed the media persons and highlighted that the state government took the project of Ram Path Gaman and Shri Krishna Patheya Yojana. A sufficient amount has been proposed in the budget that religious places in the state should convent into the tirtha sthal (Pilgrimage spot).
State Finance Minister Devda presented the first budget of the current Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led state government for the financial year 2024-25.
CM Yadav also said that the state government broke all records and presented over Rs 3.60 lakh crore budget and they set a goal that the state budget would be doubled in the next five years. (ANI)
