MoS Gohain assures fast development of Railways

New Delhi [India], Feb 1 (ANI): Minister of State (MoS) Railways Rajen Gohain on Thursday said that the Railways Budget introduced as part of the Budget proposals for 2018-19 by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley includes everything and assured fast development of the sector.

MoS Gohain assures fast development of Railways

New Delhi [India], Feb 1 (ANI): Minister of State (MoS) Railways Rajen Gohain on Thursday said that the Railways Budget introduced as part of the Budget proposals for 2018-19 by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley includes everything and assured fast development of the sector.

Gohain told ANI, "Lots of changes and allotment have been introduced. Everything is being covered in Railway Budget, including escalator and many more. Development will be done in haste."

Connectivity, especially railways, has been given a record allocation in the Union Budget 2018. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley announced a number of schemes and measures that are expected to benefit the sector and bring the infrastructure on track.

"12,000 wagons, 5160 coaches and 700 locomotives being procured. There is significant achievements of physical targets by Railways," Jaitley said in parliament.

All railways stations and trains to have Wi-Fi and CCTVs progressively. Redevelopment of 600 major railway stations to be taken up. Mumbai transport system will be expanded. The government plans to spend Rs. 11,000 crores to add tracks to the local train network. Focus for the coming years will be on safety, maintenance of railway tracks, increasing the use of technology and fog safety devices, FM Jaitley said in the Parliament. (ANI)
