Moradabad craftsman Dilshad Hussain hopes G20 Summit brings global recognition to his artwork   

New Delhi [India], September 9 (ANI): Born in the 'Brass City' of India, Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh, Dilshad Hussain, received Padma Shri in the field of carving in 2023. 
Dilshad Hussain is showcasing his art in the 'Crafts Bazar' in the G20 Summit venue. The journey from grasping the tools as a child to turning the craft into his passion has been long, but his passion has secured him reputable recognition.
Dilshad Hussain said, "I am doing carving on the bronze. I have received Padma Shri in 2023. We had set up a stall at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Lucknow. PM Modi visited one of our stalls and he appreciated our artwork. After three days, we received a call that PM Modi liked an artwork done on a black pot and he wished to gift it to Germany. We were enthralled that our artwork had received recognition and since then our sales have increased. 
He further said that he was overjoyed when he received the invite to showcase his artwork at the G20 Summit. 
Dilshad said, "Today our art would be witnessed by foreign delegates. We hope that it will promote our art and we will receive more orders."
Dilshad Hussain also appreciated various schemes run by the Modi government. 
"Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana is for six days. In that artisans get credit and they start their work. I would like to thank PM Modi and CM Yogi for taking the initiative. I would also request the government to open centres where we can impart training to develop this skill as their is a shortage of craftsman who prepares these kinds of artworks," he added.
Dilshad Hussain has been duly rewarded for his diligence with several National, State, and Shilp Guru awards, and earlier this year, Hussain was awarded Padma Shri for his splendid work. He considers the limitless reverence of his patrons his biggest motivator and achievement. He has brought laurels to the family as well as Moradabad. (ANI)
