MoD enhances financial powers of Tri-Services' Vice Chiefs by 5 times

New Delhi [India], Nov 8 (ANI): The Ministry of Defence on Thursday announced that it has enhanced the financial decision-making powers of the Vice Chiefs of the Tri-Services by five times.

New Delhi [India], Nov 8 (ANI): The Ministry of Defence on Thursday announced that it has enhanced the financial decision-making powers of the Vice Chiefs of the Tri-Services by five times.
The Vice Chiefs will now be able to exercise their powers with an enhanced ceiling of Rs. 500 crores. This is likely to give another fillip to the capacity of the three Armed Forces.
The Ministry has delegated greater financial powers to the Vice Chiefs of the three Services in order to expedite the decision-making process involved in the revenue procurements of the Armed Forces.
Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman took the decision to augment the arms and ammunition reserves of the Armed Forces to enhance their operational preparedness. (ANI)
