New Delhi [India], March 4 (ANI): Union Minister SP Singh Baghel has hit out at Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin over the proposed delimitation issue and said that they opposed Sanatan and Hindutva and did not believe in the existence of Ram and also opposed Hindi.
Speaking to ANI, Baghel said "They (MK Stalin) are regionalism... They oppose Sanatan and Hindutva, don't believe in the existence of Ram and oppose Hindi. Whereas we are advocates of folk language, food and culture..."
Further he stated that delimitation was a constitutional institution and the commission formed for the same had a purpose and their report had to be accepted.
"Delimitation is a constitutional institution. The Constitution states that from time to time, the Delimitation Commission would be formed, which would look after the reservation and territorial expansion... It is a commission for this purpose, and we have to accept its report," he further said.
Meanwhile, AIADMK National spokesperson Kovai Sathyan mocked DMK and said that not much difference would occur if their MPS in Tamil Nadu came down to zero.
Further, he stated that calling for increase in population during delimitation was a farsighted thought process to get representation based on population. He also called MK Stalin the number one 'incompetent chief Minister'.
In a self-made video, Sathyan said "What difference will it make for DMK if the number of MPs from Tamil Nadu is 39 or less or more? The performance is going to be zero anyway... Delimitation is going to start by 2026. Now calling for increase in population, this is a farsighted thought process to get representation based on population. Population is a bane as well as a boon. So, there is no farsightedness...We say this again and again that the number one incompetent chief minister in India is MK Stalin..."
Earlier, Stalin told couples of the state to "give birth to a child immediately" to ensure greater representation in Parliament. Stalin said that MPs count depends on population adding that now he won't say don't rush to give birth to child.
"Before it is used to say don't give birth to child immediately, no need to rush. But now it is not necessary, we shouldn't say that also. Because it is being said that the number of MPs would be decided based on population. The situation created is more population, more MPs. But we have achieved success with focusing on family planning. Now I won't say don't rush to give birth to child, give birth to a child immediately."
Stalin emphasised that the number of MPs is directly tied to population, saying, "With 39 MPs, we are fighting for rights, with more MPs, we can achieve our thoughts." Stalin also requested all parties to attend an all-party meeting regarding delimitation. (ANI)
