New Delhi [India], March 29 (ANI): Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva on Saturday launched a scathing attack on former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of corruption, financial mismanagement, and neglecting Delhi in favor of Punjab.
Reacting to the FIR against AAP national convenor and others Sachdeva alleged that under Kejriwal's leadership, Delhi has suffered from "misgovernance, corruption, and debt."
Sachdeva while speaking to ANI said, "During the rule of Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi was drowned in misgovernance, corruption and debt."
He contrasted this with the BJP's governance, stating, "The Bharatiya Janata Party government of Delhi has given a budget of Rs1 lakh crore to the people of Delhi to fulfill their aspirations. And the government is carrying out continuous development work, monitoring, and preparing a summer action plan."
The Delhi BJP chief also questioned Kejriwal's absence from the national capital.
"Arvind Kejriwal should clarify whether he has even spent 45 hours in Delhi in the past 45 days, as he has been firmly seated in Punjab's chair instead," he remarked.
Further escalating his criticism, Sachdeva accused Kejriwal of exploiting both Delhi and Punjab.
"It would be better if, after looting Delhi, he stops looting Punjab now and engages in self-reflection--because the law is working against him in multiple cases, and he should feel the heat of it," he stated.
Earlier, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Praveen Khandelwal lashed out at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the opposition while accusing them of "acting on their own will" in the last decade.
"You reap what you sow. In the last 10 years, Delhi was looted, scams happened, and they (AAP) acted on their own will. As the FIR has been registered now, the agencies will do their work accordingly. Whosoever has done wrong will suffer. No one will be spared from the punishment," the BJP MP told ANI.
Delhi police on Friday informed the Rouse Avenue court that they registered an FIR on a complaint against Kejriwal and others. The complainant has alleged a Violation of the Defacement of Public Property Act in the Dwarka area.
The Rouse Avenue court on March 11 gave a direction to the Delhi police to register an FIR and file a compliance report. Delhi police submitted a compliance report before the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Neha Mittal and informed that FIR was registered.
Delhi police also submitted that the investigation is in progress, and it is an old case, and they require some time to investigate the matter. The matter is listed for the next hearing on April 18, 2025. (ANI)
