Minority circular row: K'taka govt. unbiased, says Reddy

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], Jan 28 (ANI): In the back drop of minority circular row, Karnataka Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Sunday asserted that the state government is not biased.

Underlining that the error in the notice has been rectified, Reddy told ANI, "There was some error in the notice, it has been rectified. In last three years we have withdrawn around 400 cases that involve more than 2800 Hindus and 301 Muslims. We are not biased."

Earlier, a circular had asked the police officials to drop cases registered against "innocent minorities" involved in the incidents of communal clashes.

However, the Karnataka government replaced the words "innocent minorities" with "all innocent" in the revised circular.

Earlier Reddy also rebuffed the reports and said that it was not a circular, but only a reminder.

Reportedly, Karnataka Director General of Police Neelamani N Raju issued the circular to withdraw cases against people, who belonged to the minority community and were allegedly involved in the communal riots in the last five years. (ANI)
