Ministry of Women and Child Development to observe "Ek Tareekh, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath" to celebrate 9 Years of Swachh Bharat Mission

New Delhi [India], September 30 (ANI): The Ministry of Women and Child Development is gearing up to actively participate in the 'Ek Tareekh, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath' event as part of the 'Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign', commemorating the 9th anniversary of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
This special campaign is scheduled to take place on October 1, at 10 am, lasting for one hour.
The Swachh Bharat Mission, a flagship initiative led by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, has launched the 'Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) - 2023' program, running from September 15 to October 2, read the Ministry of Women and Child Development press release.
SHS-2023 is themed around achieving a "Garbage Free India" by emphasizing visible, high-level cleanliness achieved through community participation and volunteer efforts.
The Ministry of Women and Child Development is dedicated to ensuring that cleaning activities are carried out with active community involvement, producing tangible cleanliness outcomes on the ground, read the press release.
For this campaign, the Ministry of Women and Child Development has meticulously planned more than 29,000 events, with an anticipated participation of over 15 lakh individuals.
These cleanliness drives will be organized through Anganwadi Centres, One Stop Centres, and the offices of the National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development (NIPCCD) under the Ministry, all under the banner of the "Ek Tareekh, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath" initiative, read the press release.
These cleanliness drives will primarily target public areas such as public spaces near Anganwadi Centres, bus stands, railway stations, beaches, tourist destinations, riverfronts, ghats, drains, etc., in both rural and urban areas across the States and Union Territories.
Additionally, special drives will take place in Anganwadi centres, aiming to raise awareness about cleanliness and hygiene among children, pregnant women, and lactating women, read the release.
The enthusiastic participation in this campaign underscores the dedication and commitment of diverse stakeholders to achieving a cleaner and healthier environment for all.
