Minister Atishi, Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi interact with principals of MCD schools who got training from IIM-A

Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi and Education Minister Atishi on Friday interacted with 47 principals of Municipal Corporation of Delhi schools who received training at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

New Delhi [India], August 16 (ANI): Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi and Education Minister Atishi on Friday interacted with 47 principals of Municipal Corporation of Delhi schools who received training at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
The program was organized at the office of the State Council of Educational Research and Training, (SCERT), Delhi.
During this, senior officials of the Education Department of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and officials of SCERT were also present.
During the program, the Education Minister of Delhi, Atishi and the Mayor, Shelly Oberoi learned from the principals about their training experiences.
The principals of the Corporation schools discussed in detail the teaching techniques, school management, human resources, leadership development and other experiences taught at IIM-Ahmedabad.
The principals said the initiative of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has benefited them immensely. The children of the corporation schools would also definitely benefit from this initiative.
Addressing the interaction session, Education Minister, Atishi said that the purpose of sending the principals of corporation schools to IIM for training was to build capacity in them so that they could use their leadership qualities effectively.
Additionally, she said that they want to make the MCD schools excellent educational centres like IIM institutes.
Delhi Mayor, Shelly Oberoi said that the Delhi government was doing excellent work in the field of education. Inspired by this, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has also started revolutionary changes in the field of education in MCD schools.
MCD schools have been neglected and there has been a lack of resources in corporation schools, as per a press release by the Mayor. The rejuvenation of the corporation schools is being done on a war footing.
Mayor Oberoi said that the teachers of the corporation schools are capable. She further said that the way they are doing excellent work even with limited resources is commendable. She added that MCD schools provide primary education and prepare the foundation of children.
Addressing the principals, the Mayor said that after training at IIM-Ahmedabad, the time to pass on the benefits of learning to the children was here. She also congratulated the principals for working with a positive mindset.
Further, she said that the goal was to make schools of MCD excellent like the schools of the Delhi Government so that the children coming out of our schools to make their name shine in all fields related to administration, medicine, and policymaking. (ANI)
