New Delhi [India], Sept. 28 (ANI): The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Thursday said that is it examining the report submitted by the high-level committee formed to propose new laws to deal with menace of hate speech on internet.

MHA examining report on new laws to combat menace of hate speech on internet

New Delhi [India], Sept. 28 (ANI): The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Thursday said that is it examining the report submitted by the high-level committee formed to propose new laws to deal with menace of hate speech on internet.

The concerned officials asserted that a report on section 66A of the Information Technology Act by the committee has been submitted, whereas report on cyber security law is yet to be finalised.

The committee was formed after the Supreme Court struck down section 66A of the IT Act.

In the wake of the growing menace of hate speech and abuse on the internet, the committee was set up to propose new laws and amendments in existing laws. (ANI)
