New Delhi [India], Mar 8 (ANI): The Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday issued an advisory to states and union territories asking them to reinforce the existing arrangements to ensure safety and security of persons belonging to Jammu and Kashmir residing in their respective jurisdictions.
Referring to its earlier advisory issued on February 16 in view of some students and residents of Jammu and Kashmir experiencing intimidation and harassment, the MHA urged State/UT police authorities to take strict action against the offenders as per law.
This advisory came against the backdrop of an incident which took place in Lucknow on Wednesday wherein two Kashmiri dry fruit vendors were assaulted by some members of a right-wing fringe group.
The Uttar Pradesh police acted swiftly and arrested four people in connection with this incident which had evoked a nationwide outrage. (ANI)
