Met office predicts heavy rainfall in parts of Madhya Pradesh

The regional meteorologist has predicted that heavy rainfall can be recorded in eastern Madhya Pradesh in the coming five days while districts of Western MP which include Rajgarh, Barwani, Alirajpur and Jhabua are likely to receive rainfall on Wednesday.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], July 24 (ANI): The Meteorological Office issued a heavy rainfall alert on Wednesday in some districts of Madhya Pradesh for the next five days.
The regional meteorologist has predicted that heavy rainfall can be recorded in eastern Madhya Pradesh in the coming five days, while districts of Western MP, which include Rajgarh, Barwani, Alirajpur and Jhabua, are likely to receive rainfall on Wednesday.
"There is a monsoon trough active right now which is moving towards the Bay of Bengal via Bikaner, Gwalior, Satna and Daltonganj. There is another system which is an offshore trough that is going from the coast of Gujarat to the Karnataka coast. As a result, it is raining in the state. By yesterday, we can say that there is a minus 2% rain deficit in Madhya Pradesh compared to normal. There is a minus 10% rain deficit in East MP. And there is a five percent surplus rain in West MP," Shilpa Apte, Meteorologist, IMD Bhopal.
She also said that normal rainfall occurred in the entire MP as of now. Rainfall recorded in the last 24 hours in the state include 10.4 cm in Sagar, 5.1 cm in Satna, 4.9 cm in Bhopal, 3.3 cm in Jabalpur, 2.6 cm in Rewa and 6.2 cm in Sidhi.
"In the coming 5 days, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in some places in Eastern MP like Dindori, Katni, Seoni, Mandla, Panna, Damoh, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh and Neemuch districts. Similarly, western MP districts which include Rajgarh, Barwani, Alirajpur and Jhabua are likely to receive rainfall today while Narmadapuram, Betul and Harda district are likely to receive rainfall on Friday," Apte added.
According to the latest data from the Met department, very heavy rain with lightning is likely to occur over Niwari, Tikamgarh, Jabalpur, Katni districts in the forenoon hours.
Similarly, heavy rain with lightning to continue over Chhatarpur, Damoh, North Mandla, South Panna district along with moderate thunderstorms with lightning over Gwalior, Datia, Morena, North Panna, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Vidisha, Sagar, Narsingpur, Balaghat, South Mandla, North Dindori, Umaria in the forenoon hours.
Besides, light thunderstorms with lightning to occur in Bhopal, Raisen, Khandwa, Indore, Dhar, Agar, Rajgarh, Sehore, Narmadapuram, Chhindwara, Sheopur Kalan, Bhind, South Dindori, Anuppur/Amarkantak, Shahdol, Satna, Maihar, Sidhi, Singrauli, Rewa, Mauganj, Neemuch and Mandsaur in the forenoon hours.
