New Delhi [India], October 11 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the decision of the union cabinet to establish an autonomous body, Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), to serve as an overarching enabling mechanism powered by technology for youth development and youth-led development, said an official statement.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi deserves commendation for his visionary emphasis on youth development, a pivotal demographic in shaping the future of any nation. The establishment of the "Mera Yuva Bharat" under his leadership marks a significant stride towards empowering the youth", it added.
This initiative highlights his recognition of the young population as not just beneficiaries of policy but active contributors to national progress, the statement further read.
"Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) aims to become a whole Government platform for youth development. Under the new arrangement, with access to resources and connection to opportunities, youth would become community change agents and nation builders, allowing them to act as the Yuva Setu between the government and the citizens. It seeks to harness the immense youth energy for nation-building", it said.
"MY Bharat will focus on the age group of 15-29, with a special focus on the age group of 15-19. It will enable leadership development through experiential learning by shifting from isolated physical interaction to programmatic skills and encourage youth to become social innovators and community leaders. It will enable Youth-led development and make the Youth 'active drivers' of development, not merely 'passive recipients'", it added.
The statement read, "To achieve this, it will work towards better alignment between youth aspirations and community needs and enhanced efficiency through the convergence of existing programmes. It shall act as a one-stop shop for young people and Ministries and create a centralised youth database. It will ensure accessibility by creating a physical ecosystem and improved two-way communication to connect youth government initiatives and activities of other stakeholders that engage with youth".
This initiative is in continuation of the steps taken by the Modi government to empower youth by strengthening the education system in the country by introducing the 'New Education Policy'. The promotion of skill development and entrepreneurship via initiatives like Skill India and Start-up India has unleashed the potential of youth. Recognising that physical and mental health is the foundation of all development, campaigns like 'Fit India', and 'Khelo India' have been introduced, promoting a culture of fitness and health consciousness among the youth.
"The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, under the leadership of Anurag Thakur, has been at the forefront of implementing several innovative schemes to fulfil the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi", according to the official statement.
"Foreign policies and bilateral youth exchange programs have opened new opportunities for the youth to interact with diverse cultures and global trends, helping them become global citizens", the official statement said.
"Initiatives like 'Digital India' have not only digitised education but have also encouraged the youth to innovate in the digital space, creating more tech entrepreneurs and reducing the digital divide in society", it added.
The establishment of Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) underscores the government's commitment to harnessing the immense potential of a young, vibrant, and tech-savvy demographic, preparing them to compete and excel in a global environment.
As per the statement, by creating opportunities for skill development, innovation, and leadership, the focus of Prime Minister Modi on youth development is setting a foundation for a resilient, self-reliant, and dynamic India.
"His approach fosters a participatory environment where the youth are encouraged to take an active role in their development journey. It not only aids in the personal growth of the individuals but also contributes substantially to the socio-economic development of the nation. Through such initiatives, Prime Minister Modi is nurturing a generation of proactive, responsible, and skilled citizens who are poised to lead the nation towards new heights of development and prosperity.', it further read.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi is investing not just in individuals but in the nation's future, acknowledging that a country's progress is deeply interlinked with the youth's well-being and development", it added.
Earlier today, the Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the establishment of an autonomous body 'Mera Yuva Bharat' (MY Bharat) to serve as an overarching enabling mechanism powered by technology for youth development and youth-led development and provide equitable access to youth.
The primary objective of Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) is to make it a platform for youth development, according to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. (ANI)
