New Delhi [India], Nov 28 (ANI): Coming down heavily on Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan for his Kashmir remark during Kartarpur corridor groundbreaking ceremony, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Wednesday said that Khan "chose to politicise the pious occasion."
"It is deeply regrettable that the Prime Minister of Pakistan chose to politicise the pious occasion meant to realise the long pending demand of the Sikh community to develop a Kartarpur corridor by making unwarranted reference to Jammu and Kashmir which is an integral and inalienable part of India," said the official Spokesperson of MEA Raveesh Kumar.
Kumar further said that Pakistan must fulfill its international obligations and should stop supporting terrorism. "Pakistan is reminded that it must fulfill its international obligations and take effective and credible action to stop providing shelter and all kind of support to cross-border terrorism from territories under its control," he added.
Earlier on Wednesday Pakistani Prime Minister Khan said that the only issue between the two neighbouring countries is Kashmir. "The only issue between us is Kashmir. All it needs is just two capable leaderships to resolve this issue. Just imagine the potential we have if our relationships get strong. We should move forward. Pakistan wants to move forward. Can we not solve one problem," asked Khan.
Pakistan Prime Minister Khan was addressing the gathering after laying the foundation stone of the religious corridor between Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur and Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur district of Punjab. (ANI)
