MDMA worth Rs 1 lakh seized in Mangalore, 2 arrested

The Enforcement wing of CAF & Civil Supplies Department is conducting widespread search and seizure operations to crack down on the illegal commercial diversion and pilferage of domestic LPG cylinders, an official statement said.

In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) busted a narcotics smuggling syndicate and seized 43 kgs of narcotics worth Rs12.82 lakhs in two separate operations at Nagpur and Kalaburagi.

In a breakthrough against darknet-enabled narcotics trafficking, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has dismantled a pan-India drug distribution network operating under the name "Team Kalki." The network had been active on darknet platforms and the encrypted Session messaging application since January 2025. Acting on intelligence developed in the last three months, NCB conducted an operation in New Delhi, leading to the bust of the network.

The Commissioner's Task Force, Golconda team and Masabtank Police busted an adulterated dairy products manufacturing unit in Hyderabad and apprehended one person for illegally manufacturing ghee by mixing palm oil, vanaspati and other low-quality substances, seizing items worth Rs 18.26 lakh.

The arrested were receiving narcotic substances from a Kerala-based individual residing in Thailand and distributing them to customers as per his instructions, thereby earning illegal profits.

The Delhi High Court on Friday overturned a decision of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) that had quashed disciplinary proceedings against IRS officer Sameer Danyadev Wankhede. The High Court's ruling allows the Union government and the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) to proceed with the departmental inquiry.
