New Delhi [India], August 25 (ANI): The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has unveiled its mobile application, 'MCD 311' to empower Delhi's residents to actively participate in the upkeep of their city by lodging complaints related to various civic issues.
Mobile App 311 was launched by Lt Governor Anil Baijal at the Raj Niwas here, an official release said.
The 'MCD 311' app is a user-friendly interface where citizens can conveniently register their grievances, encompassing concerns such as illegal dumping of construction debris (malba), improper disposal of municipal solid waste, road potholes, malfunctioning streetlights, and the presence of stray cattle, among others.
This digital channel promises to streamline the process of reporting problems to authorities, promoting transparency and swift resolution, added the release.
To ensure the efficacy of this new initiative, the complaints submitted via the 'MCD 311' app will be closely monitored by a consortium of agencies, including the Central Agency for Quality Management (CAQM), the Department of Environment (GNCTD), and senior officials within MCD.
This multifaceted oversight aims to expedite complaint resolution and provide citizens with timely updates.
To underscore the commitment to responsive governance and efficient service delivery, MCD has issued comprehensive directives for the redressal of complaints through the 'MCD 311' app.
Complaints related to lifting municipal solid waste (MSW) and construction and demolition waste (C&D) shall be addressed expeditiously. Following the resolution, officials will be required to upload photographs of the site on the app, ensuring transparency and accountability, added the release.
All Deputy Commissioners in different zones of Delhi will be tasked with monitoring complaints received on the 'MCD 311' app daily. Their mandate is to ensure the prompt resolution of all such complaints, with a strict deadline of 24 hours, thus expediting the process and boosting citizen confidence.
The introduction of the 'MCD 311' app represents a leap forward in citizen-centric governance, placing the power to effect change directly in the hands of Delhi's residents.
By the convenience of technology and the collective vigilance of its citizens, MCD aims to create a cleaner, safer, and more efficient urban environment for all who call Delhi home.
As the 'MCD 311' app takes flight, it is anticipated that it will usher in a new era of responsive and accountable municipal services, strengthening the bond between the government and its people. (ANI)
