Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 28 (ANI): Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Monday praised the Indian Armed Forces for conducting Operation Mahadev and neutralising several terrorists in an encounter that broke out earlier today.
Speaking to the media, Shinde saluted the Indian Army for eliminating terrorists during Operation Mahadev.
"Today, the Indian soldiers have accomplished the task of eliminating terrorists. They have done this through Operation Mahadev. I salute the Indian Army. This is a matter of pride for all Indians, and therefore, I also salute PM Modi because he has given a befitting reply to Pakistan," said Eknath Shinde.
Three terrorists were killed in an intense firefight with security forces in the Harwan area near Dachigam National Park of Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army said on Monday.
The anti-terror Operation Mahadev took place in the general area of Lidwas, the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army said.
Alongside, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha confirmed that three Pakistani terrorists were killed.
"It is true that three Pakistani terrorists have been eliminated. The police administration will give full information about this... I congratulate the army, police and all those involved in this operation, Sinha told reporters.
Earlier today, BJP MP Baijayant Jay Panda, during the discussion on Operation Sindoor in Parliament, told the House that it appears that at least one terrorist involved in the Pahalgam attack has been neutralised in an ongoing anti-terror operation, Mahadev, in Jammu and Kashmir.
"As we were debating this issue today, some of us must have seen in the news that an Operation Mahadev is being conducted in Jammu and Kashmir targeted at terrorists and it appears that at least one of those eliminated today was involved in the Pahalgam attack...," Panda said. (ANI)
