Vidisha (Madhya Pradesh) [India], June 12 (ANI): A massive fire broke out at a chemical factory in Madhya Pradesh's Vidisha district on Wednesday morning, an official said, adding that no casualties have been reported in the incident.
The factory is located in the Pital Mill industrial area in the district. The serpents of smoke have been visible from eight to ten kilometres away from the incident spot.
Upon getting the information about the incident, several fire tenders from Vidisha and nearby places reached the spot to douse the fire. Teams of SDRF (State Disaster Response Force), Home Guard and administrative staff also reached the spot and efforts are underway to control the fire.
Vidisha Collector Buddhesh Kumar Vaidya told ANI, "A fire broke out at a pesticide chemical factory here at around 7 am. It is located in the Pital Mill area of Vidisha. There are industries here from the past and residential areas are away from the spot though nearby locations have been made alert. Arrangements are being made to make sure that there should not be any casualty."
"So far, no casualty has been reported in the incident and there were no people in the factory. Since it is a pesticide chemical factory, the intensity of fire is quite high and fire tenders especially foam fire brigades from the nearby district have also been called to douse the fire," Collector Vaidya said.
"Local fire tenders are present on the spot and efforts are on to control the fire," he added. (ANI)
