Maoist gun down watchman, torch construction camp

Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra Patel on Thursday distributed 40 electric cars to Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the state in Gandhinagar to facilitate practical training in electric vehicle technology for trainees in the Motor Mechanic trade. During the event, the Chief Minister also inaugurated 50 Dhanvantari Arogya Rath and six Mobile Medical Vans to provide doorstep primary healthcare services to construction workers and labourers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Assam on March 13-14 March. During the visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate, dedicate to the nation, lay foundation stones, perform Bhoomi Poojan and flag off multiple development projects worth more than Rs 47,600 crore across Kokrajhar, Guwahati and Silchar.

The 72 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organised a free medical camp on Thursday in Jamola, a remote hilly area of Rajouri. Jitendra Singh Yadav, the Commanding Officer of the 72 Battalion CRPF, stated, "This medical camp has been organised by the 72 Battalion. We have organised these camps in other places also, because this is a very remote area, and people might not get the proper medical facilities."

Assam Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass on Tuesday said that the state government has completed the construction of 17.20 lakh houses in the last five years under the Union government's flagship Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced that the construction of the new 4-lane, double-tier elevated corridor from Chennai Port to Maduravoyal, being built at a cost of over ₹3,500 crore, is progressing in full swing and is scheduled for completion by November 2027.
