Man who threatened Priyanka Chaturvedi gets five-day police custody

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], July 5 (ANI): Girish Maheshwari, the man accused of issuing rape threats to Congress spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi's daughter on social media, has been sent to police custody till July 10.

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], July 5 (ANI): Girish Maheshwari, the man accused of issuing rape threats to Congress spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi's daughter on social media, has been sent to police custody till July 10.
The decision was taken after a formal hearing at the Dindoshi court here on Thursday.
Maheshwari, a resident of Ahmedabad, was arrested earlier in the day after Chaturvedi lodged a complaint in the police against the accused.
Chaturvedi had filed a criminal complaint on July 3 against the troller, who had tweeted to her threatening to rape her 10-year-old daughter.
The Congress spokesperson brought the matter to the attention of the Mumbai Police, after which a complaint was filed. (ANI)
