Man tries to set EVM on fire in Sangola, polling unaffected: Solapur District Magistrate

"In Sangola city at polling booth number 86 a voter tried to set fire to an EVM. The three ballot units looked a little black but they are intact. The control unit & VVPAT are also intact. We replaced the EVM machines, we conducted a mock poll on new EVM machines and the voting process started on the new EVM machines. The polling process started peacefully there. The control units of the original EVM machine were intact and therefore the votes recorded in it can be counted," Ashirwad said.
