Man commits suicide in court as soon as pronounced guilty of rape

Katni (Madhya Pradesh) [India] Sept 23 (ANI): A man committed suicide on Saturday after a court here pronounced him guilty of raping a minor girl.

The deceased, Krishna, was accused of raping an aadivasi minor girl a year before in Kuthla police station area of Katni District.

Krishna was produced before the court and as soon as the court pronounced him guilty, he jumped off the first floor of the court. He was rushed to the district hospital by the lawyers where he was declared brought dead.

According public prosecutor J.P. Choudhary, case under sections of 376,305,7/8 of Indian Penal Code, POSCO Act, and SC-ST Act was registered against Krishna.

Special Judge A.P. Mishra acquitted Krishna in SC-SC Act, but held him guilty in rest of the offences and said quantum of punishment will be pronounced after some time.

When Krishna heard this, he pushed the policemen and jumped off from the first floor of the court. (ANI)
