Man arrested for illegally procuring, selling noxious tobacco worth Rs 10.4 lakh in Hyderabad

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], July 22 (ANI): A man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly procuring and selling noxious tobacco worth Rs 10.4 lakh in an illegal manner in Hyderabad.
According to the Police, a raid was conducted at Nav Bharath road lines and transport and apprehended Puneriya Shiva Kumar who is indulged in illegal procuring and selling of noxious tobacco material from Delhi to Hyderabad. He delivered the material to the customers at a high price to gain easy money.
The accused, earlier had oil and Saree sales business at Osmangunj but the business was shut down due to loss. A few months ago, accused came in contact with a tobacco supply agent, Sonu Lal in Delhi, the Police informed.
Police have seized 192 tins of Ratna brand tobacco, 4,000 sachets of JK tobacco and 30 kgs of loose tobacco worth Rs 10.4 lakh.
The accused along with seized material has been handed over to station house officer of Shahinayathgunj Police Station for further investigation. (ANI)
