Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee speaks to students here on Wednesday.

Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], Mar 27 (ANI): Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee met the students who had appeared for School Service Commission (SSC) and are on a hunger strike for last 28 days.
“On May 23rd after the election results are declared we will try to solve this issue. If your demands are valid then we will look into it,” the chief minister said here.
“The government is trying to solve your problem. As because the model code of conduct has been imposed so we cannot give you any commitment,” she added.
The chief minister directed the education minister of the state Partha Chatterjee to solve the problem as early as possible.
The students had appeared for exams in 2017 and alleged that when the merit list came, they did not get marks for the written exam, viva and interview but only ranks.
The students have been demanding the government should fill up the vacancies for teachers. (ANI)
