New Delhi [India], February 25 (ANI): Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of systematically reducing scholarships meant for students from SC, ST, OBC, and minority communities, alleging that the Modi government's actions have severely impacted the educational opportunities of marginalised youth.
Kharge, in a post on X, cited government data from Rajya Sabha responses and budget documents to highlight an allleged decline in scholarship beneficiaries over the past decade. He claimed that funds allocated for these programs had also been cut by 25 per cent annually on average.

"Your government has taken away the scholarships of the SC, ST, OBC and Minority youth of the country. These shameful government statistics show that the Modi government has not only made massive cuts in the number of beneficiaries across all scholarships but has also spent 25 per cent less funds on average year after year," Kharge wrote on X.
The Congress President also questioned how the country could ensure job creation for its youth if students from disadvantaged backgrounds were not given proper support. He slammed the BJP's Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas slogan, calling it a mere rhetoric that "mocks the aspirations of the weaker sections."
"Unless the students from weaker sections of the country get opportunities and their skills are encouraged, how will we be able to create jobs for the youth of our country? Your slogan of "Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas" mocks the aspirations of the weaker sections every day," Kharge wrote.
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi, slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), claiming that both are against the Constitution.
"A battle of ideology is going on in India. On one hand, the Congress party believes in the Constitution and is fighting for it. On the other end, RSS and BJP who are against the Indian Constitution, the constitution of BR Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi, weaken it and they want to end it. The Indian Constitution is not just a book but thousands of years old thinking of India. There is a voice and thinking of great personalities of India in this constitution," the Congress leader said.
