Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], October 20 (ANI): Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde will visit Palghar and Dahanu today (Sunday) as part of the Shiv Sena's Jan Samvad tour.
During his visit, he will interact with Shiv Sainiks.
As part of the tour, Shrikant Shinde has travelled for over forty days, covering more than 10,000 kilometres. He has extensively toured Northern Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Western Maharashtra, Konkan, Mumbai, and Marathwada, covering 24 districts, according to sources.
Meanwhile, with a month left for the Maharashtra assembly elections, both the ruling Mahayuti alliance and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi have ramped up their electoral preparations and are working towards finalising seat-sharing among their allies.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that discussions regarding seat-sharing are in the final stages.
"Yesterday, we resolved the problematic seats through positive discussions. We will finalise the few remaining seats in the next two days. It has been decided that the finalised seats should be announced by the respective parties at their convenience. In the Bharatiya Janata Party, processes such as the Election Committee and Parliamentary Board have almost concluded. Our first list could be released at any time," he said.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde stated that a meeting was held with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday.
"The Mahayuti's seat-sharing was discussed, and the discussions were positive. They are now in the final phase. Seat-sharing will be finalised soon, and we will share the good news," he said.
Maharashtra will go to the polls on November 20, with the results to be declared on November 23.
In the 2019 assembly elections, the BJP won 105 seats, while Shiv Sena secured 56, and Congress won 44 seats. In 2014, the BJP won 122 seats, Shiv Sena secured 63, and Congress won 42 seats. (ANI)
