Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], September 21 (ANI): As the Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated across the country, a Ganesh pandal was prepared and installed based on the theme of the Mumbai Metro in the Ghatkopar area of Mumbai.
Lord Ganesh can be seen sitting in the coach of the Metro.
The creator and decorator of the Pandal Rahul Gokul Waria said that they took a month to prepare it.
"We have been making Ganpati for 12 years. For three years we have been making Ganpati based on a miniature concept. This year we have made a replica of Ghatkopar metro station. Every year we do something different. Earlier we had made a replica of a double-decker bus and a local train. We make the statue at home. It took us a month to make it," Rahul Gokul Waria said.

Earlier today the devotees in Mumbai were imbued with devotion as the auspicious festival of Ganesh Chaturthi continues and many devotees are visiting the Lalbaugcha Raja for 'darshan' of Lord Ganesh and offer prayers to the 'Vighnharta'.
The history of the Lalbaugcha Raja is quite famous as it is the popular Ganesh idol of Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal, located at Putlabai Chawl, a place of worship founded in 1934. The Lalbaugcha Raja Ganapati idol has been taken care of by the Kambli family for over eight decades.
Ganesh Chaturthi is a ten-day festival that starts on the fourth day of the Hindu lunisolar calendar month 'Bhadrapada' and this year the festival commenced on September 19. This auspicious ten-day festival starts with 'Chaturthi' and ends on 'Anantha Chaturdashi'.
It is believed that Lord Ganesh arrives on Earth during the festival and after the 10 days of blessings he showers on his devotees, he returns back to his parents Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati on 'Kailash Parvat'.The festive period is also known as 'Vinayak Chaturthi' or 'Vinayak Chavithi'.
The festival celebrates Ganesha as the 'God of New Beginnings' and the 'Remover of Obstacles' as well as the god of wisdom and intelligence. (ANI)
