Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 29 (ANI): Ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray made serious allegations against the current Maharashtra government on Monday, accusing it of extensive corruption over the past two years.
"Maharashtra has been looted for the past two years. Previously, I brought a major road scam to your attention. It's not just my claim; my data shows that no work has been done as claimed. Whether work is done or not, budget escalation is evident," Thackeray said while speaking to ANI.
He assured that Shiv Sena (UBT) aims to return to power soon and vowed to take stringent actions against those involved in corruption.
"I assure you, we will be in government soon and won't spare anyone... It's 'Ladli Contract Yojana' instead of 'Ladli Behna Yojana,'" he said.
Earlier this month, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut criticised the Shiv Sena government, calling the 'Ladla Bhai' scheme an "election gimmick" and challenging the Mahayuti government to give Rs 10,000 to women instead of male students.
In an interview with ANI about the 'Ladla Bhai' scheme, Sanjay Raut said, "Ladla Bhai, Ladle Pitaji, Ladli Mataji--all these offers are for the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections. There is no money in the government treasury. The Maharashtra government is in debt by Rs 8 lakh crores. After losing the Lok Sabha elections, the group of Shinde, Fadnavis, and Pawar is suddenly remembering Ladli Behen and Ladla Bhai."
"They are giving Rs 1500 to 'Ladli Behen' and Rs 6,000 to 12th-pass students, and Rs 10,000 to graduated Ladla Bhai. But Ladli Behen needs it the most, as she has to run the house. If you are so generous, then give Ladli Behen Rs 10,000 per month. But people know this is all an election gimmick, and their schemes will shut down after the elections," added Raut. (ANI)
