Maharashtra govt signs MoUs for pumped storage projects

Maharashtra government on Thursday signed three memorandum of understandings (MoUs) for pumped storage projects.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], September 26 (ANI): Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government on Thursday signed three memorandum of understandings (MoUs) for pumped storage projects (PSP).
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that through the MoU signed, 15,000 megawatts of electricity will be generated.
"An important MOU has been signed today in the field of PSP. 15,000 megawatts of electricity will be generated and an investment of Rs 82,000 crores will be made and about 18,000 people will get employment," he said.
Fadnavis further said that the MoUs signed today for projects meant to generate 56,000 megawatts of electricity through clean and green energy through PSP. An investment of about Rs 2.93 lakhs will be made and about 90,000 people will get employment through this.
"Today, we have signed 3 different types of MOUs, which include floating solar, wind energy and green hydrogen. We have signed different MOUs in which an investment of Rs 47,000 crores will be made, 18 thousand people will get employment and about 5,5000 megawatts of electricity will be generated," he said.
"Its importance is also more because it is clean energy and we have thought that by 2030, 50 percent of the energy we use should be clean energy. This is an important step in that direction," he added. (ANI)
