Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 21 (ANI): Shivsena UBT leader Anand Dubey on Sunday criticized Union Home Minister Amit Shah for "Aurangzeb fan club" remarks on party chief and said that Uddhav Thackeray becomes Aurangzeb if he stands against the BJP but becomes a magician if Thackeray support the BJP-led Centre.
He further reacted to remarks on Sharad Pawar and asked if Sharad Pawar was the kingpin of corruption, then his nephew Ajit Pawar is a "saint for them".
Anand Dubey said, "Maharashtra did not bow down in front of Adil Shah 400 years ago and it will not bow today in front of Amit Shah. Even after taking away the election symbol and the party, Maharashtra gave them only 17 seats. Neither Delhi (BJP leaders) likes this restlessness nor BJP leaders in Maharashtra like the same and Amit Shah's statement is the result of this restlessness. Today, Sharad Pawar is the kingpin of corruption for them and his nephew Ajit Pawar is a saint for them. If Sharad Pawar Ji sits with them, then he will become the greatest person for them, but if he is against them, then he is a kingpin of corruption for them."
Adding to it further, Anand Dubey said, "Uddhav Thackeray becomes Aurangzeb if he stands against them and if he supports them, then he will become a magician for them. This clearly shows that the BJP uses a politics of pressure. If somebody is against them, then that person becomes the most corrupt and criminal. What kind of politics is that? This is dirty politics and they will get the answer in the Vidhan Sabha elections."
Earlier in the day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah hit out at the opposition alliance in Maharashtra, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) referring to it as "Aurangzeb fan club" and alleged that Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray is the club leader while launched sharp attacks on former Union Minister and Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Chandra Pawar) supremo Sharad Pawar over corruption accusing him of "institutionalising" corruption.
While addressing the BJP conclave in Maharashtra's Pune on Sunday, Shah also targeted Congress, accusing the party of spreading "misconceptions" about reservation, as he alleged that the Congress party cannot do anything for the upliftment of poor people.
The BJP conclave comes in the wake of the upcoming Legislative Assembly elections in Maharashtra. The state is likely to go to poll for the 288-member legislative assembly later this year, as the tenure of the current government ends in 2024. However, the Election Commission is yet to announce the dates. (ANI)
