Maharashtra: BJP and Shiv Sena (UBT) members clashes in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, police resort to lathi charge

A scuffle broke out between Shiv Sena (UBT) and BJP workers in Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on Monday, after the later protested against Aaditya Thackeray's visit to the city.

Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Maharashtra) [India] August 26 (ANI): A scuffle broke out between Shiv Sena (UBT) and BJP workers in Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on Monday, after the later protested against Aaditya Thackeray's visit to the city.
The scuffle broke out between the members of both parties in front of the Rama Hotel where Shiv Sena (UBT) Aditya Thackeray was staying. The police had to resort to mild lathi charge to bring the situation under control.
Aditya Thackeray has come to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar on a 2 day tour.
Earlier, Aditya Thackeray supporters had protested against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Maharashtra's Aurangabad. BJP workers retorted against Aditya Thackeray with loud sloganeering. However, Shiv Sena (UBT) workers also responded in a similar manner that led to a scuffle between the workers of both political parties.
Aditya Thackeray has been actively campaigning for the Maharashtra General Assembly elections. On Monday he visited Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
In the recent Lok Sabha Election, Aditya Thackeray, fighting from, the Mumbai North West constituency, suffered a narrow loss against Shiv Sena's Ravinder Waikar by only 48 votes.
Maharashtra legislative assembly elections will be held on 288 constituencies. The Election Commision of India has yet to announce the dates for the election.
The upcoming Maharashtra election will see a contest between the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition, comprising the UBT Shiv Sena, NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), and Congress, and the Maha Yuti Alliance, which includes the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction).
Recent Lok Sabha Election has given a boost to the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance, with the Shiv Sena (UBT) winning nine seats, the Congress 13, and the NCP-SP winning eight, bringing the total tally of the alliance to 30.
On the other hand, the Mahayuti alliance suffered a major blow with BJP winning only nine seats, Shiv Sena winning seven and NCP folded with one seat, bringing the total tally of alliance to 17. (ANI)
