Washim (Maharashtra) [India], August 26 (ANI): Maharashtra Police have arrested three people for kidnapping and raping a minor girl, a senior police officer said.
Washim Superintendent Of Police Anuj Tare told ANI, "On August 21, an FIR was lodged that a girl aged 13 had been kidnapped. On August 22 we found the girl. Based on her statement and medical examination, it was found that she was aped. All the three names that she had given, have been arrested."
Further information is awaited.
In Badlapur sexual assault case, Maharashtra's Kalyan Court on Monday sent the accused to judicial custody for 14 days. The accused was earlier in police custody.
On August 23, the special investigation team (SIT) for Badlapur sexual assault against minors registered an FIR against the school authorities, for not complying with the provisions of Section 19 of the POCSO Act, which mandates that every authority, when they come to know about any such kind of sexual assault against minors, are obligated to report this to police authorities for further action.
The alleged sexual assault of two fourth-grade girls at a school in Maharashtra's Badlapur has sparked outrage. On August 17, police arrested an attendant of the school for allegedly abusing the girls.
The school authorities have been booked under section 21 of the POCSO Act for failing to inform the police, as required by section 19 of the same Act, as stated by the SIT. (ANI)
