Madurai: Two dead, two injured after fire broke out in a women's hostel in Kattarapalayam

Two people died and two others sustained injuries following a fire that broke out in a women's hostel in the Kattarapalayam area of Madhurai during the early hours on Thursday.

Madurai (Tamil Nadu) [India], September 12 (ANI): Two people died and two others sustained injuries following a fire that broke out in a women's hostel in the Kattarapalayam area of Madhurai during the early hours on Thursday.
As per officials from the Fire and Rescue Department, the incident took place in a women's hostel near the Periyar Bus Stand in Kattarapalayam. Over 40 students were residing at the time in the hostel when the incident took place.
According to Madurai District Collector Sangeetha, two people lost their lives and two others sustained injuries and were admitted to the hospital for treatment.
She further stated that an inquiry was underway against the hostel owner and action would be taken accordingly.
"Two people died and two others were injured and were admitted to the hospital for treatment. An inquiry is underway with the hostel owner and action will be taken in this regard," she said. (ANI)
